Collection: Studio Pottery

British studio pottery, hand thrown and hand built, mostly from the 1960s through to the 1980s with some earlier and later pieces. Expressive glazes, organic shapes and the marks of the maker still visible in the clay.

This is the heart of what I source. I look for pieces with presence: a weighty jug with painterly decoration, a bowl with a ripple in the rim, a vase in earthy tones that anchors a whole shelf. Some are signed, some are not, and the unsigned ones are often the best value way into collecting.

Use them. That is what they were made for. There is beauty in the utility and charm in the imperfections, and no two pieces are ever the same.
