Vintage Wedgwood Jasperware Jug in Portland Blue with Classical Figures and Grapevine Border

A beautiful vintage Wedgwood Jasperware jug in the iconic Portland blue for which Wedgwood is best known. A continuous frieze of classical figures wraps gracefully around the body in crisp white relief, finished with a delicate grapevine and leaf border running beneath the rim, one of Wedgwood's most admired decorative details.

A lovely size with real presence on a shelf, mantel or sideboard. It looks wonderful styled with dried stems, foliage or a loose bunch of flowers, and works equally well as a decorative piece or alongside other pieces of British ceramics. Pieces like this bring a gentle sense of history and intention to a room.

A thoughtful gift for anyone who collects Wedgwood, loves English ceramics or enjoys the timeless charm of neoclassical design.

Measures 13 x 14 cm to the handle. A characterful vintage piece with the light signs of age and use you would expect from preloved decorative ceramics.
