Vintage Milk Glass Footed Bowl with Scalloped Rim

This vintage milk glass footed bowl is a lovely little decorative piece, with a scalloped rim, soft white finish and pressed pattern that gives it gentle texture and charm. Its pedestal base lifts it slightly, which makes it feel a little more special than an ordinary dish and gives it that classic vintage look that works so beautifully on a shelf or table.

It is a wonderfully versatile size and would be perfect for olives, nuts, chocolates or small nibbles when entertaining. It could also be used on a bedside table for jewellery, on a dressing table for little keepsakes, or simply styled as part of a group of white ceramics and glass. Milk glass is so useful in the home because it adds interest and softness without competing with everything around it.

What I like about pieces like this is that they are both practical and decorative. It is just as appealing left empty as it is in use, and it would sit beautifully with silver plate, coloured glass, blue and white pottery or natural wood. A small piece, but one with plenty of styling value.

Measures 9 x 9 cm. A characterful vintage milk glass piece with light signs of age and use consistent with pre loved glassware.
