Vintage Cast Metal Pig Money Box with Red Eyes

This vintage piggy bank is a characterful piece of metalware with both charm and presence. Measuring 14 cm in length, 10 cm in width and 9 cm in height, it is cast in the form of a plump pig with expressive features and a coin slot along the back. The eyes are picked out in a gentle red tone, giving the pig a friendly and slightly whimsical look.

Height: 9cm (3.5in)
Width: 10cm (3.9in)
Length: 14cm (5.5in)

Made from metal with a naturally developed patina, the surface shows variations in tone and scattered marks that reflect years of handling and use. The weight of the piece gives it a reassuring solidity when held, while the aged finish adds depth and authenticity. A removable plate to the underside allows coins to be collected and emptied with ease.

More than simply a money box, this piece has sculptural appeal. It works beautifully as a decorative object on a shelf, sideboard or desk, adding a touch of humour and nostalgia. In a kitchen or living room it brings warmth and personality, and in a child’s room it offers a playful reminder of traditional saving habits. It also sits well among collections of vintage metalware, where its rounded form and gentle shine offer contrast and texture.

Condition is good, with light wear and patina consistent with age. The structure is strong with no cracks or significant dents, the coin slot remains functional and the base plate is present and secure.

For collectors of piggy banks, vintage money boxes or distinctive decorative objects, this is a piece that offers both usefulness and character. It makes a thoughtful gift or an engaging addition to a characterful interior, celebrating the blend of charm and practicality found in older pieces.
