Studio Pottery Footed Bowl in Green and Brown

Studio pottery has a warmth that factory ware never quite matches, and this footed bowl has real presence for its size. Thrown by hand and raised on a turned pedestal foot, it takes the classic compote shape and gives it an artist's finish, the exterior decorated with swirling green and brown brushwork over a pale ground, loose and confident in a way only handwork achieves. Inside, a deep glossy brown glaze pools richly and catches the light.
