Vintage Amethyst Glass Punch Set with Silver Overlay Decoration

This vintage amethyst glass punch set is a truly beautiful complete service, with deep purple glass and elaborate silver overlay decoration across every piece. The set comprises a generous lidded punch bowl, original matching ladle and 6 matching cups, each with applied glass handles and silver banded feet.

The glass has a rich amethyst tone, shifting from deep plum to softer purple where the light passes through. The silver overlay decoration adds wonderful detail, with scrolling, floral and decorative motifs worked across the bowl, lid, cups and ladle. The silver has developed a soft aged patina, giving the set a characterful vintage look, although it could also be polished for a brighter formal finish.

The punch bowl measures 25 cm tall including the lid and 24 cm across. The complete service is increasingly difficult to find intact, especially with the original ladle present, making this a special piece for entertaining, collecting or display.
