A genuine Quimper faience olive bowl from Brittany, decorated in the traditional hand painted manner Quimper is celebrated for. The central motif features a Petit Breton figure, one of the most recognisable Quimper designs, framed by a rich blue speckled rim and finished with two side handles that make it feel especially useful on the table.

Quimper faience has been produced in Locmaria, Quimper since 1690, and these pieces are loved for their lively brushwork, regional costume figures, and that instantly uplifting Breton palette. Henriot Quimper continues to produce pottery today, which only adds to the collectability and enduring appeal of older pieces like this.

Measures 18 x 13 x 6.5 cm. Perfect for olives, cornichons, nuts, or a small serving dish for nibbles, and it is equally lovely styled as a catchall on a console for keys, or on a bedside table for jewellery. It pairs beautifully with blue and white ceramics, simple glassware, and crisp white linen.

Vintage condition with light wear consistent with age.
