Floral Oil Painting at Killerton by Muriel Hester Broughton, 1970

A richly layered oil on board titled Flowers at Killerton, painted in 1970 by British artist Muriel Hester Broughton (1905–2003). Though unsigned, the piece is labelled verso and was part of The Exhibition of Holiday Painting, organised by Galleon Painting Holidays and shown at RWS Galleries, Conduit Street, London, in 1971.

The loose, expressive brushwork and joyful colour palette, from soft primrose yellow to cornflower blue, make this a wonderfully uplifting addition to any space. The textured white frame brings a fresh, contemporary contrast to the vintage surface beneath, giving the piece real styling flexibility.
