This antique Prattware pot lid has been framed in a simple black wooden frame, turning a nineteenth century ceramic lid into a compact piece of wall art. The lid features a detailed rural village scene with several figures gathered in an outdoor setting, cottages in the background and a clear blue sky above. The colours remain soft and well balanced, typical of Victorian printed pot lids.

The frame measures around sixteen centimetres across and two centimetres deep. The original papered backing shows age related wear and areas of loss, and the hanging loop has also aged, but the piece remains stable for display. The print on the lid is clear and the surface is smooth, with only expected signs of age. These framed lids were originally produced as decorative tops for ointment and cosmetic pots, and they now appeal to collectors for their charm and miniature picture quality.

This piece is an easy size for styling. It works well on a picture ledge with other small artworks, on a bookcase beside vintage pottery, or as part of a small gallery wall. Its gentle colour palette and nostalgic subject make it suitable for both traditional and modern interiors.

A characterful example of antique Prattware that offers a glimpse into Victorian life and decorative craft.
